Chapter 7: Understanding God's word

   This chapter talks about how the author met a man who was a very effective worship leader because he understood scripture. He found a way to correlate scripture and his worship by singing bible verses. It was very apparent that this man had the Word in his heart. Knowing the Word, being solidly grounded in the Bible, is an essential element in being an effective leader of worship.
    I like this chapter because it talks about how to be rooted in God and his Word and what an amazing thing it can be. It's important for us to connect with the Word in order to be effective leaders because we are here to spread God's word. The Bible is how God communicates with us so we are unable to communicate His message to others if we do not know it.

Chapter 6: Thankfullness to God

This chapter talked about thankfullness and how we live in a thankless society. As Christians we should be models of Thankfullness. We should cultivate continuous thankfullness towards God. A heart that is full of thanksgiving to the Lord every day will be much more effective in leading corporate worship.
I like this chapter a lot because it is so important to always be thankful. God has blessed us all with so much and we need to show our appreciation and Thankfullness. As leaders it is important that we try our best to demonstrate thankfullness in everything we do. That is our job as Christians to demonstrate thankfullness and be role models for others.

Chapter 5: Living a Life of Worship

This chapter is about the lifestyle of worship and how we can not accomplish the kind of worship God desires unless we live a life of worship. It says our Sunday worship should be a culmination of our worship of the whole week. God seeks true worshipers not just worship. A life of worship must permeate in everything we do and say.

I like this chapter because it talks about how to truely live a life of worship. God does not want us to only occasionally worship. We must include worship in every aspect in our lives. I think it is very important that we all live a life of worship and include it in every aspect of our lives in everything we do.

Chapter 4: Having a Levitical Heart

This chapter talks about having a Levitical Heart. A Levitical heart is fully giving yourself to God. It talks about how God does not care about our talents he wants our lives and our hearts. We cannot be God's with conditions, even if He does not make us big things in life we must be His no matter what.

I like this chapter because it really emphasizes how God does not care about earthly things such as talents and possessions. He just wants us, He wants us to give everything to Him. No matter what happens in life we must always stay true to God and always give ourselves to Him.

Chapter 3: Having a Humble, Servant Attitude

   This chapter is about being humble. It talks about the ultimate worshipper in 1000 BC and how they are content with their simple lives of making songs about the faithful God they serve. It also talks about how God ultimately does not need our talents, he just wants our hearts. In our worship he wants us to be centered in Him.
   I really liked this chapter because it emphasized what God wants from us when we worship. In order to be servants for God we have to be centered in Him when we worship. I feel like we sometimes get caught up in the talent aspect of worship and we just need to remember that that's not what God wants from us.

Chapter 2: Walking in God's Grace

       In this Chapter the author talks about how Christians sometimes feel like we fail God. We are all human and we do make mistakes and sin but God will always forgive us. God constantly shows His love for us through His forgiveness and grace. Through the walk of our lives we will mess up a lot,but we need to remember that God loves us so much and will always forgive us.
       I really liked this chapter because so many people try to be perfect because they think that is the only way to truely obey God. This chapter helps us realize that we can't be perfect but God will always loves us anyways. His grace is unending and His love is everlasting.

Chapter 1

In this chapter the author talks about his own journey with his worship. He says that at first he did worship out of a genuine want for praising God and giving thanks to Him. As time went by the author became more focused on his musical abilities rather than the true purpose of worship. He shared how he felt that he had hit bottom because he was no longer leading with a heart full of worship. Eventually he found his way back to the reason he started worshiping and learned from this experience.
I really liked how the author talked about his personal experience. I learned from him and it made me realize that no matter what God has to be my main focus while I worship. I loved when he said, "Anyone aspiring to be an effective worship leader must have as his main anchor point a relationship with the object of his worship, the almighty God." This was a great line because if your purpose for worshiping is not rooted in God there is no point. Worship is a beautiful way to show God how much you love Him and thank Him.

INTRO TO THE BOOK KEYS TO BECOMING AN EFFECTIVE WORSHIP LEADER.

            The author talks about being a worship leader and that his goal is to serve God. The book is based on experience because scripture does not talk directly about worship leading. He wants us to read this book 1 chapter at a time and then pray to God and ask Him what he wants us to do with this information. The book stresses on being a worship leader not on how to be a worship leader.
             I liked how to the author talked about his goals as a worship leader and that the true purpose is to serve God. This was a really great explanation of what this whole book will be about. The author seems to love God more than anything and he seems to have a genuine passion for worship I am very excited to read about what the author has to say in the book!
