Chapter 11

This chapter is about accepting the role of being an example. As a worship leader people are constantly looking up to you to set a christ-like example. Even when you are not worshiping you must be an example of a good Christian in everyday life. The author talks about how people are constantly watching you in life and how your actions reflect Christ. I liked this chapter a lot because of how relevant the message is. As high schoolers our peers are constantly looking at us as an example of strong Christians. It is important that we live up to the example that God wants us to be through our actions and how we treat others.

Chapter 10: Self-Discipline

This chapter is about self-discipline and how it is essential when you are a worship leader. We must be willing to discipline ourselves in many areas, including prayer, the study of God's word, musical practice time, and preparation. The author says that discipline is the most difficult aspect of being a worship leader because you are tempted to procrastinate. God will multiply our efforts at self-discipline even beyond expectations, He will pour out His blessings. I like this chapter because I think it is very relevant. As High Schoolers I think we get lazy and procrastinate a lot and sometimes that can effect our worship. It's really important that we remember to be diligent and discipline ourselves in order to prepare worship to the best of our abilities.

Chapter 9: Holding Loosely to the Ministry Positio

This chapter is about the author talking about worship leaders who helped the church grow. The worship leaders pastor began to make decisions that he did not agree with so he left the church. The moral of this story is to not rely on the position that we are in right now because God could change our paths at any time. Do not put your entire identity into your position because it could change. I like this chapter because it emphasizes how Gods plan for us could change at any time. I think that it is important for us to be flexible as worship leaders and be prepared for any changes God brings to our lives. God has amazing plans for our lives and we just need to follow Him. It is important to constantly pray and ask God to help guide us.
